UK Antique G-PLAN G Plan Nesting Tables (Set of 3) / Storage Desk (94-119)

A set of three G-PLAN Astro nesting tables, discovered in the English countryside.
1970s. Teak wood.
Designed by Victor Bramwell Wilkins. From the Fresco series.

G-PLAN is a brand name of the British furniture manufacturer E.GOMME. This series, which was the first in Britain to incorporate Scandinavian style (Nordic design) and started in 1953, became hugely popular in the UK during the 1960s.

This is one of G-PLAN's representative models, the Fresco series. G-PLAN furniture, which is highly popular in Japan, is rare and scarce even overseas.

Victor Bramwell Wilkins was a British designer who was active from the establishment of G-PLAN. He was a highly skilled designer, mentioned alongside the master Ib Kofod-Larsen at G-PLAN. He was responsible for G-PLAN's hit series Brandon, Brasilia, and this Fresco.

These nesting tables feature a beautiful design characteristic of antique furniture.
The aged luster of the old teak wood also creates a sense of luxury.

Nest means a bird's nest, and nesting tables are tables that fit inside each other. The three tables fit neatly together, allowing them to be stored compactly when not in use.

They would also be useful as plant stands or bedside tables. You can enjoy arranging them stacked together, or display them separately to enjoy their individual character. The slender legs seem to pair well with the currently popular Nordic furniture.

In addition to being used as shop display fixtures, it would be fun to create a scene reminiscent of European films or interior design magazines by combining them with antique furniture in your everyday space.

There are stains, scratches, rust, cracks, peeling, and marks due to age-related deterioration.
